In the style of a traditional Gullah vendors tent, this installation stands as an offering to the ancestral guides of its creators. The sounds of rain signals the cleansing and nourishing powers of water. The kirtan, an Indian harmonium instrument used in consulting spirit guides by awakening them through music, is refashioned as a Gullah spiritual tool. It traps evil spirits in its water filled tubes, releasing them anew. At the exhibition's opening, viewers were asked to nourish themselves by taking fruit, another byproduct of rainfall, from the installation.
