American Pastor
Is a still shot of a pastor preaching a sermon.
The perspective to some.. I paint the pastor in a fleshly bold manner. Consuming the space of the canvas. Giving a monster -ish tone.
Christianity can be a misunderstood practice for people. But through the misunderstanding there is one thing that is true. A pastor is a position of calling.
It is a vessel for Jesus. In the painting the blue umbrella is to signify protection of God. Look closely there are eyes under the umbrella and arms that are crossed. Jesus is implanted into the top of the pastors head.
The umbrella further extends itself as a tongue. Speaking the word of God and striking the bull skull.
Issues in America can skew the perception but that will not out weigh God's work. The American flag and the Cross play on each other in the symbolic positioning.
