Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture 24'
Investigating controversial themes in Christianity within the homes of African Americans. The image of Jesus, is he black or white? If Jesus is not recognized by our white counterparts as black, is he rather a deity? Crocodile Tears exemplifying false outcry by black people for white tragedies. Despite celebration, what are the true emotions for the birth of a white savior? Moses reconfigured into a figurine with a shell as a head riding a Shofar. Recontextualizing his story and the Shofar to better represent African motifs.
